Your physician may order additional testing to determine if the inner ear is responsible for your dizziness/imbalance symptoms. We offer the following specialty testing for the inner ear portion of the balance system.

Electronystagmography (ENG)

T​he ENG test is used to assess and detect disorders of the peripheral vestibular system (the portion of the inner ear that interprets balance and spatial orientation) as well as the nerves that connect the vestibular system to the brain and muscles of the eyes.


Electrocohleography (ECoG)

​ECOG is a diagnostic test that aids in the evaluation of inner ear disorders by indirectly measuring fluid pressure of the cochlea. Excessive fluid pressure of the inner ear can cause symptoms such as hearing loss, aural fullness, dizziness, and/or tinnitus. 


Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential (VEMP)

Cervical Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential (cVEMP) test is a non-invasive diagnostic test that evaluates the function of the saccule (an inner ear balance organ) and the inferior vestibular nerve.
Ocular vestibular-evoked myogenic potential (oVEMP) is a non-invasive diagnostic test measuring the utricle (an inner ear balance organ) and superior vestibular nerve function by recording myogenic potentials from extraocular muscles.


Video Head Impluse Testing (vHIT)

​vHIT is a measure of the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) in response to head movement. The patient wears specialized goggles with a camera that records eye movements, while a clinician moves the patient's head quickly to the left and right, and in vertical planes. This test aids in the diagnosis of various vertigo related conditions related to the inner ear.
